i heart raw denim...

i'm not a denim head or that guy that has to have the newest denim out. i'm just a simple raw denim kind of guy. the reason i love raw denim is because if you take the proper steps while wearing your them, they go from a nice blue or black to a pair of denim that no factory on earth can reproduce if they tried 100 times. i began to love raw denim a few years ago but recently i've become obsessed with the turnout after months of wearing them. on my trip to new york a guy dropped off a pair of denim at the BKc. the guy wore these jeans for two straight years without giving them a good machine wash. The denim was indescribable but i will try my best to give you a picture.  the color had completely change to a blue-brownish wash.  the belt loops had all been replaced with different types of loops from different denim brands (quite dope). the seat and crotch had been stitched by his grandmother in ireland, so imagine heavy duty thread in the back of the jeans and crotch. there were rips in the pockets, legs, and cuffs of the jeans. the original owner is also a painter so it had paint drops here and there but the kicker was the big blue paint spot on the back from his sitting on his own paint while working on a project.

here are some other pictures of how dope your denim can look without machine washing them. remember soak your raw denim after a few months of wear and tear and they may look like these below. also if you ladies and gents have pictures of your denim send them over we'd love to post them.

most of these pair were worn for 8-24 months before they were soaked or washed...

I have a pair of raw denim, and haven't washed them since I got them about 2 months ago. But, how do you go 8+ months without washing your jeans in some fashion without them becoming disgusting?

As maniacal as people may get about their raw denim, there are really no set rules "customizing" your pair. If they get disgusting, wash them. A trick to keeping them righteous while not washing them is using a suit brush. Most of the dirt & dust accumulates in the fabric & makes them look disgusting. The suit brush will help take care of that and won't strip away the indigo like harmful chemicals.

i would also hang them up or lay them flat on something every night to let them breath a little bit. I also heard putting them in the freezer works but i haven't tried that yet.

i've also rolled mine up with dryer sheets and that usually makes them smell better. Febreeze of course. i just washed mine after a 9 month wear... theyre looking dope. that back pocket with the brass knuckles is super ill though, never seen that before.
