this month's chicago artist department gallery nights will feature seattle native, maikoiyo alley-barnes, at artistic jeanius this friday, july 11th. mr.alley-barnes' highly anticipated body of sculptures will exhibit from july 11th through august 6th, with a public reception this friday from 6pm until with the featured artist in attendance. complimentary h'our deurves and libations will also be in attendance...

sooo...with all this going back and forth between solemates and the brooklyn circus - i stand patiently awaiting the bearded man's arrival to show him how we do it in chicago! this is a call to the solemates family to come out this weekend and show us what you got. there will be tons of picture taking- courtesy of photoninja.net and ouigi- and jokes all the way around . you can't miss this event, or ouigi's demise....HAHAHAHA (so what halloween's over). this weekend we had swap...little miss ashley took off to bk and ian reid came to the chi- his second favorite city. we kicked it with him and hannane for a minute- putting together some plans for the future. all i can say is don't sleep on whats coming...and make sure you check out ian's skate video sex hood skate - you can buy it at uprise.

customs don't usually float my boat...but loaded pencil has some nice clean customs that look like nike could produce them, better yet should produce...here goes a pair that he brought into the store that caught my attention...check more of his work out at here.

today we spent time preparing for whats to come for solemates...chicago. we politicked with rachel of r hanel photography and jon- my fellow buffalonian and our "in-house graphic designer". i won't put out too much...but we have some plans in store...love it!!!
not too long ago we got a visit from casey and leo of kick clicker. they made a trip from sweden to the states to add to their portfolio of sneaker photography. while here they hit up all the chicago spots. you can check the site here, although i believe they are still in the process of updating it...
sooo...we did some bonding this week. with the assistance of nick we got tatted up...again. brian got the entire book of psalms while i stuck with the solemates logo. thanks nick!

recently we had the pleasure of linking up with a pair of incredible interior designers based in chicago. robin and greg of grid gallery, stopped by the store last week and chatted it up with us. they saw our article in ur magazine and the loved the concept of the store. upon finding out they were interior designers- it was a match made it heaven. sooo many of their pieces are exact fits for solemates...crazy! i stopped by the gallery and loved it!! they were undergoing a small renovation, but it did not take away from the vibe. you must stop by...below are pics of the space and greg on our new couch (which is for sale). the couch was a perfect new addition for our grand opening party...love it!
