Chicago’s Premiere Hip Hop Duo Takes The Stage On Tila Tequila’s Masquerade Ball On MTV This New Year’s Eve
December 27, 2007- MTV viewers are getting prepared to be introduced to the newest incarnation of hip hop in it’s freshest form as Chicago’s own Ivy League is set to perform during Tila Tequila’s Masquerade Ball airing LIVE on MTV on December 31st. The group will be helping millions of viewers bring in the new year in style as they perform two of their biggest singles, “I’m The Man” and “Jamaican Carl” at approximately 11pm EST/10 CST. Viewers will be watching history in the making, as The Ivy League performs in the TRL Studio, becoming the FIRST EVER Chicago group to perform on the network for New Year’s Eve!
The group, who already have a loyal fan bases in cities like Chicago, New York, Detroit, Cleveland, Los Angeles and everywhere else quality hip hop is appreciated, garnered over 102,000 votes as part of a contest sponsored by http://www.mtv2ontherise.com/
Fans and potential fans alike won’t want to miss this epic performance. In case your NYE plans won’t allow you in front of the tube to watch The League get down, don’t worry. The group will be sprinkled throughout MTV as they lay “Sucker Freestyles”, which will be aired during various MTV programming after the performance. Interviews as well as an encore presentation of the performance will also be available for viewing ON DEMAND as well as on MTV.com
The group will be celebrating this milestone with a December 31 performance at Chicago’s swanky Boutique nightclub, which will also be airing the taped MTV performance. Also, catch The Ivy League on Chicago’s largest Hip Hop and R&B radio station 107.5 WGCI for a live interview on December 29.
